Benefits of Membership
Community
The community of your fellow members is above all else, the most important benefit of joining the Royal Marsh Harbour Yacht Club. At our home base, Abaco Beach Resort www.abacobeachresort.com, most everyone you see each day is a friend. The evening Happy Hour under the Club tent clubhouse often draws 30 to 40 people for an hour or so to talk about their day and their plans for tomorrow.
Marina Partners / Restaurants etc.
The Club’s main base is Abaco Beach Resort. Our members enjoy special contracted rates in the marina where 35-40 member boats gather each season. We work hard to secure special rates at other marinas, restaurants and businesses too. Follow the link to visit our Member Benefits page. For more specific detail about rates at any of these establishments, please contact our Rear Commodore of Membership at membership@rmhyc.com
Security
There is safety in numbers as the saying goes and with so many of our members in and around Abaco, it is likely there will be a fellow member nearby if you should need a hand. Finding another member to travel with when crossing to or from the US is always comforting. If you need to go back home for a special event, there are always members who will look after your boat while you are gone.
Knowlege
You are having an issue with a certain system on your boat and are not sure what to do about it? For sure one of your fellow members will offer a hand or a spare part to help out. Seminars are held routinely under the tent where someone will share their knowledge of seamanship, knot tying, cooking or whatever might be the topic.
Activities and Events
From pickle ball to Water Aerobics, there is always something to do. Weekly Movie Nights under the tent and annual events like the Cook-off, Bucket Golf tournament and Art Classes are always well attended. The list is as long as you want it to be. Bing your talent and help others to enjoy your passion.
Cruising
After all, this is why we come to Abaco. Cruising the gin clear water and exploring a deserted beach are atop the list. When the weather is good, a small armada will form and head off to anchor out for a night or two. A beach fire weenie roast is almost always part of the plan. Dinghy excursions are a favorite too. There are extensive backwaters full of turtles, rays and blue holes just begging to be explored.
